The Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) Competitions Committee has released the seeding for the initial rounds of the upcoming CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. The draws are scheduled to take place this Thursday in Cairo, Egypt.
In a surprising turn of events, the renowned clubs Raja Casablanca and the Royal Army Club (FAR Rabat) have been excluded from the top seedings, thus requiring them to compete in the preliminary rounds. This decision means that both teams will need to play two matches before reaching the group stages.
Conversely, the successful ranking of RS Berkane has granted them a bye from the preliminary rounds of the Confederation Cup, allowing them to advance directly to the next phase. However, newcomers Union Touarga will have to fight their way through the preliminaries, marked by their first-ever appearance in the continental competition.
