The Moroccan Olympic team has resumed training in France in preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Among the players present this time was PSG defender Achraf Hakimi, who had previously missed the initial call-up.
After their arrival in Lyon, the Olympic Lions began their preparation on Monday in Dardilly, gearing up for the Olympic football tournament scheduled from July 24 to August 9. The team undertook two training sessions, as reported by the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) on their official website: a morning indoor workout followed by a technical-tactical field session.
Achraf Hakimi Joins the Squad
Initially weakened by several absences upon their arrival on Sunday, the team is now nearly complete, according to the FRMF. PSG right-back Achraf Hakimi has finally joined his teammates after his vacation, as evidenced by photos shared on his social media account. Another previously absent player, Ez Abde of Real Betis, has also reported for training. The only player yet to join is Bologna’s midfielder Oussama El Azouzzi, who is expected to arrive in the coming days, per the FRMF.
Tarik Sektioui’s squad is set to play a few friendly matches, including a possible game on Thursday against an undisclosed opponent. The team will kick off their Olympic campaign on July 24 against Argentina, followed by a match against Ukraine three days later at the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium in Saint-Étienne. The group stage will conclude with a match against Iraq on July 30 at Allianz Riviera in Nice.
The Moroccan team continues its Olympic preparations. Stay tuned for more updates.
