Javier Ribalta, who served as the Director of Football at Olympique de Marseille from July 2022 to October 2023, is currently a free agent following his departure from the club. The latest speculation centers on Ribalta potentially becoming the Sporting Director for Wydad Casablanca. According to reports from Radio Mars, Ribalta’s appointment was said to be imminent, causing a stir on social media this past Monday.
However, this buzz appears to be unfounded. The media outlet Le360 claims to have contacted Ribalta directly, who denied any contact with the Moroccan club, which is set to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup in 2025. “Ribalta wonders about the source of these speculations, which are circulating widely on social media,” stated Le360. As it stands, it seems the former Marseille executive will not be heading to Morocco anytime soon.
