Transfer Update: Noussair Mazraoui to Join Manchester United
In a pivotal move for the upcoming season, Bayern Munich and Manchester United have reportedly reached a final agreement on the transfer of Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui. According to sources from Foot Mercato, the transfer has gained significant momentum over the past 48 hours.
Recent reports had indicated that Manchester United were making strategic maneuvers to bring in the right-back, who has earned 28 caps and scored 2 goals for Morocco. This followed the club’s need to offload Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who was originally considered in an exchange deal with Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries. However, it now appears Wan-Bissaka is headed to West Ham.
Football journalist Santi Aouna confirmed the verbal agreement between Manchester United and Mazraoui and mentioned that the only remaining obstacle is an agreement on personal terms between West Ham and Wan-Bissaka.
French media outlet Foot Mercato detailed that West Ham had initially attempted to secure Mazraoui but switched their focus to Wan-Bissaka after failing to close the deal with Bayern Munich and the player. The London club is now reportedly in sync with Manchester United’s demands, and a final agreement seems imminent.
The domino effect saw Manchester United agreeing to release Wan-Bissaka to West Ham as part of the arrangement. This allowed the club to secure Mazraoui for a fee of 25 million euros, the same amount Bayern Munich had initially agreed upon with West Ham before the shift in Mazraoui’s preference.
Mazraoui’s desire to join the three-time European champions has facilitated a full agreement with Manchester United’s recruitment team. Unless there’s an unforeseen twist, Mazraoui’s arrival at Old Trafford is expected to be confirmed in the coming days.
