El Kaabi Makes a Decision About His Future (Official)

As previously reported, Moroccan international forward Ayoub El Kaabi has made a significant decision about his future. The official confirmation comes after speculation in various media outlets. El Kaabi, who has earned 46 caps and netted 25 goals for Morocco, has extended his contract with Olympiakos despite interest from several clubs, including those in Saudi Arabia, Lyon, and Fenerbahce under Jose Mourinho.

Olympiakos expressed their delight on their official X account, stating, “We have fought and won together, we have conquered together, and now we will continue to dream together! Ayoub El Kaabi has renewed with Olympiakos FC!”

Committed Until 2026
At the age of 31, the former Wydad AC striker is now committed to the Greek club until 2026, according to Le360. El Kaabi, a native of Casablanca, has already started preparations with Olympiakos, who finished third in the Super League last season. Although he was not selected for the recent friendly against Mechelen, which they lost 2-0, El Kaabi is expected to feature on Friday against Al-Qadsiah, potentially facing off against Gabonese international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who recently joined the Saudi club from Marseille.

El Kaabi’s previous season was a landmark one, with 33 goals in 50 matches, marking his best tally to date. He was pivotal in helping Olympiakos secure their first-ever Europa Conference League title, scoring the decisive goal in the final. Additionally, he broke records previously held by notable African players such as Aubameyang, Didier Drogba, and Samuel Eto’o to become the highest-scoring African in a single European campaign, with 15 goals (5 in the Europa League and 10 in the Conference League).
