As the Paris 2024 Olympic football tournament nears (from July 24 to August 9), the Morocco U23 squad, under the guidance of coach Tarik Sektioui, is making headway in their preparation schedule.
The Atlas Lions Olympic team is intensifying their training regimen at the Mohammed VI Complex in Salé. This week, the squad, which includes senior team player Achraf Hakimi—one of the three over-23 players selected alongside Soufiane Rahimi and Munir El Kajoui—trained rigorously, though they were without Ez Abde, who was temporarily held back by Betis Sevilla for pre-season commitments. On Friday, the focus was sharpened on physical and tactical aspects, as reported by the Moroccan Federation (FRMF) on their official website.

Departure Date for France Revealed
The FRMF also announced the departure date of the team for France. The delegation is set to depart on Sunday and will land in Lyon for a preparatory camp, as previously stated by Sektioui. The team will play a friendly match on July 18, which will serve as their final rehearsal before the tournament. The identity of the opponent has not been disclosed, according to Le360 Sport.
The team will then proceed to Saint-Étienne, where they will play their first two matches in Group B at Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium. They will face Argentina on July 24, followed by a match against Ukraine three days later. They will then head to Nice to play against Iraq on July 30 at Allianz Riviera. Should they advance to the quarter-finals, they will compete against one of the top two teams from Group A, which includes France, the USA, Guinea, and New Zealand.
