Mohamed Salah, former star of Zamalek Club and the Egyptian national team, has criticized the handling of the crisis involving Hussein El-Shahat, Al Ahly player, and Mohamed Sheibi, Pyramids player. His remarks came during his appearance on the “Al-Remontada” program on Al-Mehwar TV, where he expressed his deep frustration with the situation.
Salah stated, “Egypt is a leader in football, yet it has the biggest crises in the world.” He expressed his astonishment at resorting to legal measures in such cases, pointing out that football is a sport based on ethics and forgiveness. He criticized the inability of the football association to make the appropriate decision.
He added, “The player made a mistake and then apologized,” indicating that simple and spontaneous solutions might be more effective in dealing with such crises.
